The information that a user provides about his or herself at registration.

COPA
The Child Online Protection Act, which forbids companies from collecting personal information from those who are under 13.

Dutch Auction
An auction in which the seller can sell more than one of the same item. We currently do not have dutch auction capabilities.

Escrow
Money, property, a deed, or a bond put into the custody of a third party until fulfillment of certain conditions. Escrow services such as PayPal allow you to do this in your trades.

Ending

An auction that is closing soon. Indicated by a small "ending" icon as seen above.

Feedback
Commentary made by other members about a single user. These comments are open to the public and are organized by way of a rating system. For example, John (8) would mean that John has 8 positive feedback comments.

High Bidder
The person who has the highest bid in your auction, thus making them the 'winner'.

Hot Item
An item that has over 7 bids.

Item Number
The number that is assigned to each item for sale on LaundroMatic. You can find the item number by looking in the location bar.

Laundro
Abbreviation/Nickname for LaundroMatic.

LaundroMatic Store
The store in which you can purchase things from LaundroMatic.

Listing
The act of putting something up for sale on Laundro.

New
An item that has been added within the past day.

Policy
The comprehensive list of rules and agreements that you agree to when you become a member.

Proxy Bidding
The current system of bidding on LaundroMatic. It allows for a bidder to input the highest amount they are willing to pay for an item. However, this amount is kept hidden in order to prevent them from being outbid or having to pay too much. For example, let's say you have your eye on a yo-yo going for $5. You put in your bid as $8, seeing as that is the highest amount that you are willing to pay. However, your bid only shows up as $8. Another person comes along and bids 6 dollars - then you will still be high bidder, however your bid only shows up as $6.50. The auction ends, and you only end up having to pay $6.50. Brilliant, no?

Registered User
Any person that has registered at Laundro.

Retract Bid
The act of removing your bid from an auction.

URL
The web address of something on the Internet.

User Agreement
Incorporated into the policy; See policy.

User Page
A small page that allows LaundroMatic users to display some information about themselves to the rest of the community.

Your Account
The feature that allows you to manage your auctions, bids, feedback, contact information, and more.
