User Agreement

    The following is the User Agreement as presented by LaundroMatic. It describes the terms on which LaundroMatic offers you access to its services. It specifies the terms and conditions that are applied to the use of our utilities. You must agree to these terms, as well as the additional policies linked within, before you will be able to become a user. If you do not accept and/or understand these terms, registration and use of our services is strictly prohibited. Our goal is to make Laundromatic a safe and enjoyable place for teens, and all the of the provisions of our User Agreement make it possible for this to be.

    We may change this Agreement at any given time, without prior notice. Any amended Agreement that is posted to our site goes into effect immediately and is applicable to all users. It is solely the user's responsibility to educate his or herself about the changes made to the Agreement. The Agreement was last amended on March 27, 2002.




1. Eligibility of Membership.
This auction site is only available to teens and young adults who are at least 13 years of age. Parental permission is required. If you do not meet these requirements, you are not eligible to use these services. Our services are not available to those who have been banned or suspended from LaundroMatic.

2. Fees and Charges.
Registration, Bidding, and Selling are FREE on this server. Do not abuse this privilege. High bidders must pay the amount that they bid, but otherwise all of our services are free.

3. LaundroMatic is merely a forum through which auction services take place.

3.1 Overview We provide services to people interested in selling and buying merchandise via the format of an Internet auction. We take no part in the actual transaction between sellers and buyers. Because of this, we do not have control over the items that are posted in the auction site, and cannot guarantee the authenticity, safety, legality and quality of a said product. We are not responsible for the actions the sellers and buyers takes, before, during, and after the auction, typographical errors and misprints in the auction, loss of merchandise/money, and damage or failure of equipment, or other unfavorable action incurred due to or resulting from your visit to this auction site. Use of this site is at your own risk, and content is presented 'As-Is'. However, if you happen to have an unfortunate encounter, there are methods that can be taken to ensure your satisfaction.

3.2 Safety in Your Trading Establishing authenticity of a user, product, or claim over the Internet is extremely difficult, therefore LaundroMatic cannot confirm any of the above. A feedback system has been set up in order to help members of our community evaluate with whom they are dealing. You may wish to use an escrow service such as PayPal or Yahoo! PayDirect that can provide additional safety and verification. LaundroMatic is not responsible for any damages that occur as a result of using a third party's auction service.

3.3 Control over Information We do not control the information that is made available through our site by our users. Therefore, we are not connected in any way, shape, or form with such things. You may find another user's information to be harmful, offensive, misleading, or inaccurate. Use common sense and safe trading when dealing with others through our site, and always remember that there is an inherent risk involved.

3.4 Release Because of our lack of involvement in the actual transaction between buyer and seller, you release LaundroMatic and all of its employees and those with which it is affiliated from from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes stemming from a transaction made on our site. We are not liable in any way for lost profits, merchandise, or any other damages that may occur as a result of using our services, regardless of how they arise (this includes any form of negligence).

4.1 Responsibility "Information" is defined as any information that is given to us or to our site through email, snail mail, telephone communication, user pages, message boards, registration, forms, feedback, file transfer protocol, site visits, bidding, listing, or any other means, currently known and unknown; you assume sole responsibility for your Information and any actions that occur as a result of the transfer of such information.

4.2 Restrictions Information that you provide to us through the aforementioned venues shall not be false, inaccurate, misleading, threatening, malicious, libelous, or harassing. It shall not contain any content that is obscene, illegal, pornographic, exceptionally offensive, or harmful. It is not to be fraudulent or involved in the sale of stolen and/or counterfeit items. It shall not violate any law, ordinance, regulation, or a third party's privacy, including but not limited to patents, copyrights, or trademarks. It shall not contain any harmful method (viruses, worms, Trojan horses, et cetera) of interfering with the transmission of any other information or personal data. You may not list any item on our server that could cause us to violate any law or other governing restriction, or any item that is not allowed on our server by our Forbidden Item Policy.

5. Bidding and Buying As a user, you may bid on and/or sell merchandise over LaundroMatic. As a bidder, you recognize that placing a bid is a binding contract with you and the seller, and the bid cannot be retracted unless due to fault by the seller of typographical error, or other error, due to human error or lack of good judgment. If you win an auction as the result of having the highest bid, you will be obligated to buy the product at the said price that was indicated in your bid. Placing a bid on this auction site, winning, and then not paying for the product is illegal. If this occurs, you will be considered a Non-Paying Bidder and a warning will be added to your record. (See our Non-Paying Bidder & Fraud Policy for more information.) If you are the highest bidder in an auction, and your bid does not meet the reserve price, you are not in any way obligated to pay.

6. Selling and Listing As a user, you are welcome to post items up for sale on LaundroMatic. We do have restrictions on what items you may not sell, which may be found on the Forbidden Items List. Pre-sales are accepted. Items must be placed in the correct categories. Once a bid has been placed for your item, you are being placed in a binding contract with the potential buyer of the product, but only if that bid shall end up being the highest bid by the time of the auction's close. Once the auction is over, if the highest bid is over the reserve price, you are obligated to sell to the potential buyer, which is the highest bidder in your auction. If the reserve price was not met, you are not obligated in any way to sell this item at all. Items that are listed here are subject to review by the staff of LaundroMatic, and may be removed without prior notice, if in violation with the User Agreement or at our discretion.

6.1 Fraud If it is found that you have been involved with fraudulent activity connected with our site, we reserve the right to ban you, terminate your account, and/or take further actions. Fraud includes but is not limited to the following: false information, misleading information, and the manipulation of an item's price by either a seller or a bidder.

6.2 Obligations You are required to complete your transaction with the highest bidder if their minimum bid meets or exceeds your starting price (or reserve price), unless there are extenuating circumstances such as (a) the buyer's identity and/or credibility become unverifiable. (b) the buyer not meeting certain specifications explained in the item's description. (c) the accidental loss or damage of the item.

7. Privacy

7.1 Other's Use of Your Information The personal information that is gathered about you is gathered so that you will experience a smooth, convenient transaction as a result of using our services. This includes making it accessible to other users involved in a transaction with you. Personal information sent to a user regarding a product bought, sold, or traded through our site is not to be used for any other purpose, except for communication regarding the auction item, unless both users expressly agree to any alternate use.

7.2 Your Use of Your Information All information that you transmit through our site is automatically collected in a variety of forms. You assume sole responsibility for any information that you choose to submit to us or through us and any actions that result from this submission.

7.3 LaundroMatic's Use of Your Information We may, at any time, use your information to conduct research about our site's usage and demographic, and this information may be provided to our subsidiaries for any number of constructive purposes. Any information that is sold, rented, or otherwise distributed without your permission will not be used detrimentally or in such a way that would make you personally identifiable. We will NOT release your email or home address unless cooperation with law enforcement officials is required or if releasing such information would be appropriate or neccessary. To use our services, you are REQUIRED to provide CORRECT information at registration (see Article 4). If we find that the information violates the terms specified in Article 4, we reserve the right to terminate your account without notice.

In order to provide the services that we do, we need your permission to host all of your personal information. Hosting information involves copying it to our servers, so by agreeing to this document, you agree to grant us a universal right to the publicity and copyright rights involved with your information. We will only use this right to display the information that you provide to us.

7.4 Your Password If you lose control over your password, we suggest that you immediately change it. If this happens, you may be subject to legally binding actions that have occurred on your behalf. Because of this, distribution of your password is forbidden. LaundroMatic will NEVER ask for your password.
